July 10,
2008 -- Improvised Rocket Assisted Munitions (IRAM) are what
US military officials are calling powerful rocket-propelled
bombs used by Shiite militiamen to attack US forces in Iraq,
according to the Washington Post. According to the Washington
Post, the IRAMs are propane tanks packed with hundreds of
pounds of explosives and powered by 107mm rockets. In a June
2008 report, The Long War Journal called the IRAMs "flying
IEDs." |
